Laura posts, Seeking no-dairy breastmilk for an adopted 3 month old baby in Austin who, blessedly, has been on donor breastmilk since he was born. Hes medically fragile, has true and serious GERD & silent reflux (for which he has been hospitalized once already) which is much more triggered when there is more than a trace of dairy in his breastmilk. He most likely had a rather tough womb life. He thrives on dairy-free (or extremely low dairy) breastmilk. We know this from experience, trial & error. We are ultimately looking for a regular, long-term low-to-no-dairy donors who can provide him with a predictable amount of breastmilk each week. Meanwhile we are patching together his diet (he eats 30+ oz a day now) from the generosity of many. This babys adoptive family had less than 24 hours notice they were getting him, so his mom had no warning time to initiate lactation. Hes been a wonderful & challenging addition to their lives, and they are committed to helping him grow on donor milk. Any donors will be immediately in direct contact with this family.
