Laura was asking in a previous post what sort of noises bats make and I found the following video of some juveniles having a bit of an altercation. Flying-foxes have a large vocabulary and whilst different species may sound different they all speak a universal language. The vocalisations in the following video are more like a squabble but when they are having a fair dinkum fight, (which doesnt happen often) there is usually a much more strident screaming match. The noisiest flying-foxes get is when they are mating and that noise can be ear splitting and protracted which is part of the reason why some humans dont put out the welcome mat for bats.
