Lava Beds w/ dear friend Taylor. Swimming in the magic Medicine Lake, which no one knows about, guaranteed to pass along the medicine of this, the largest volcanic caldera in the Cascades, 30 mi from Mt Shasta. Its water is like cream. Taylor, seen standing in it, became obsessed with its magic. Lava Beds is a magical place which institutes many changes in a most blissful way. It was the full moon. It is almost mandatory, if you camp there, that you bring Tarot cards and lay them out on your picnic table, discussing them for hours. Their effect seems much magnified there. You will observe a pic of bacon and eggs, with coffee. Tastes entirely different out of doors, speaking of magic. there is a pic of a scorpion i found on my neck and brushed off. the ranger said these are little guys who mean no harm. You will observe this amazing new knife invented by Tom Hitchcock of Talent. I could not stop fooling with it. Taylor is doing a little obsidian rustling at Glass Mountain. She asked if they wanted to come live in the Rogue Valley and they said that would be fine. The Modocs traded this black glass far and wide. It was a little smoky over there, not a lot. Stopped at Greensprings Inn on the way home for burger and beer.
