Lavonia Speedway Management Makes the Decision to postpone until next weekend in order to cooperate with other local track special events this weekend! The management of Lavonia Speedway has made the decision to close this weekend in order to support other local tracks for special events and the pause for the cause. “Its simple” said Stan Lester Co Owner. “I see tracks all over the country struggling to make special events work and it’s tough to do. Doing the right thing may not be comfortable sometimes, it might not be convenient, but it’s still the right thing to do. In a world where morals and ethics sometimes cease to exist, Im glad my partner Sarah King and I still live the old fashioned way and would rather sleep at night. I realize we have not been treated the same way however this is an olive branch of cooperation and hopefully other area tracks will treat us the same way. Maybe they will, maybe they won’t, but in any case we will do it with no regrets”. Lavonia Speedway will come back on the following Saturday September 6th and have double points in all classes to determine the point Champions for 2014. Then on the weekend of September 12, 13, 14 will be the TOPLESS GEORGIA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. Series that weekend will include the Monster Mini Series, SW Limited Late Model Series, FASTRAK Dirt Late Model Series and the ULTIMATE Super Series.
