Law Enforcement Officers from Aiken begin the first leg of the 2014 Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run. The Law Enforcement Torch Run is the biggest fund raiser for Special Olympics. Law Enforcement Officers participating in the run are most importantly bringing awareness to these noble athletes as well as raising funds to support over 20,000 athletes statewide. The runners meet at the TD Bank, 142 Chesterfield St Aiken SC, a corporate sponsor for Law Enforcement Torch Run. The runners began the day with a one mile run through downtown Aiken. The runners will complete a 26 mile relay from the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office to the Batesburg-Leesville Police Department in Lexington County.
