Lawyer R.I. you stood tall among your peers, but you were so down - TopicsExpress

Lawyer R.I. you stood tall among your peers, but you were so down to earth among young ones. You were a professional par excellence and a reservoir of knowledge and wisdom and privileged to be in the top class of our societys heroes, yet you were able to relate to people of all kinds - literates and illiterates alike. I remember my early political days in 1996 and 2000 and the ideas you shared with me, the motivation and the guidance. When I visited you in Germany whilst you were Ghanas Ambassador, you insisted on accompanying me to the train station in spite of my protestation, the powdered fufu we shared, and the jokes, showed how simple a man you were. Recently when I visited you with Paul Afoko to announce to you his intention to contest for NPP chairman, the courage you showed in your declaration of unconditional support to his course and the confidence you expressed in his leadership whilst advising him to promote unity in the party, stood you out as a real party man. Today, your wish for Afoko has come to pass, yet you are no more to see how your confidence in him will be vindicated. Yes, you have contributed your part to your party, your people in Dabgon, and your country; and we are ever grateful to you. You have inspired young ones to greater heights and your legacy of hard work, humility, sense of humor, tolerance, and your stand for the truth even in difficult circumstances will continue to open new paths for current and future generations. May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Ameen.
