Laying in a hospital bed, watching a documentary about resilience, happiness & overcoming obstacles. They interviewed a lottery winner (45 million) a P.O.W. for 8 years & man who was suddenly paralyzed by diving into a pool. All 3 individuals lives were changed in the blink of an eye. Research on happiness showed that the more money you have, the happier you are (when used wisely) Money is amoral, can be used for good & evil...However, when faced with obstacles like imprisonment & paralysis it showed that a strong faith, strong morals, and the support of others were the common denominator in those individuals who were able to overcome those type of situations & come out with a smile & go on to live productive lives... Made me realize how much I really appreciate my relationship with God, the morals & values I was taught by my parents & the great people that I have come to meet in my 34 years on this earth. Even when faced with difficult situations, you have a choice on how to react or respond...Its easier said than done, but in the midst of the storm you can run, hide & take shelter...or you can stand up, walk outside, face your storm head on & dance in the rain! Life has ups & downs, how you handle the downs play a big role on how long you stay down. Like my man Les Brown says, when life knocks you down, try to land on your back, cause if you can look up YOU CAN GET UP!! #DownButNotOut #GodWillGetTheGlory
