Layla’s light: How are you looking at your day? Are you feeling a sense of anxiety....stress....or unpreparedness? For many....last minute rush and preparations are being done....in anticipation for Christmas Day. For even more....the entire Christmas season creates a struggle within. This world has created such an enormous amount of pressure on the Christmas season. This world has it’s focus on the material aspects of Christmas. Gifts, food, parties....are all expectations that we have to face. Every where you look....and everything you hear....has an influence on each one of us. We are bombarded with the temptations to spend....and do....and ‘be’ this illusion the world has created. What has happened to the focus? We occasionally hear of the good stories of compassion and giving from others. But the reality is....many people struggle through the entire month of December. It should not be this way. We must focus....the must redirect our thinking.....and we must slow down. Today is a precious day. It is the day before Jesus birth. Today is when we recognize even more....the saving grace we were freely given from God. Jesus Christ....our Lord and Savior....was born to this earth for us. God placed His flesh on the earth for us. God among us....in His Son Jesus.....lives for us....and as we know....He died for us....so that we would have a way to be forgiven for our sins. The greatest gift any human being can ever have.....is salvation through Jesus Christ. Believe and receive Jesus into your heart.....and you will be saved. Forever. When we have Jesus in our heart....we have everything we will ever need....to face anything. For me....today is an even more precious day. Today, one year ago, 2013, my 23 year old daughter Ashley went to be with our Lord and Savior. Ashley received the ultimate gift at Christmas. She was able to look into the eyes of Jesus face to face....and stand in the presence of God. I have peace knowing this. I tell you this....not for sympathy....but for reflection. As you prepare yourself for the days ahead....think about your own lives. Prepare your heart first. For the ultimate gift you can ever give your family....is the salvation in surrendering your life to Jesus. #salvation #Jesus #gift That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in Him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile – the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on Him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” ROMANS 10:9-13 God be with you.
