Lazarus represents the biblical version of a “Dead Man - TopicsExpress

Lazarus represents the biblical version of a “Dead Man Walking” in reverse. He spent four days, dead to the world, decomposing in a hot, dark cave. But he was returned to the land of the living by the power of God’s word. Jesus spoke just three words. There was no “mumbo jumbo”, no laborious or complicated secret incantations, no pixie dust, no smoke and mirrors, no dancing around -- just three words from God: “Lazarus, come out”. And just like that, Lazarus rose up from the dead. Believers, this is our destiny. One day as our decaying bodies lie in the darkness of our tombs, we too will hear a voice saying: “Rise up and come out”. We too, will one day be, “dead men walking”. What a glorious day that will be! -- Friar Tuck’s Word of the Day
