I want to dedicate this nomination to the people of French Guiana in the Amazonian Park who are still suffering from the incompetences of the stakeholders and policy-makers in France and in Brazil. It is now 10 years that Ive been alarming about the gold rush, and the terrible consequences for the environment and the people inhabiting the amazonian rainforest in the French department of Guyane. Despite some reinforcement at national level, nothing very serious has been done at the international level to stop this disaster.
