LeT asks people to observe shutdown on Jan 26 Expresses solidarity with families of disappeared persons Srinagar || Militant outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba on Wednesday supported the strike call on January 26 given by separatist organizations. In a tele-statement to CNS , LeT spokesman Dr Abdullah Gaznavi quoting outfit’s operational chief Mehmood Shah asked people of Jammu and Kashmir to observe January 26 as “Black Day”. “The worsening situation of human rights in Kashmir is indicator to contradictions to the claims by India of being world’s largest democracy. Unprecedented number of Kashmiris have been subjected to enforced disappearances with no international human rights organization paying heed to the cries of their kin in Kashmir,” Dr Ghaznavi quoted Mehmood Shah as saying. Paying tributes to Siraj-u-Din Farooqi, brother-in-Law of Al-Umar Mujhadeen chief commander Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar, Mehmood hailed role of Farooqi’s family and families of disappeared persons who continues to suffer.
