Leader of the Opposition Dr Gale Rigobert has called for policies to facilitate greater interaction: ************************************************************** Description Leader of the Opposition Dr Gale Rigobert has called for policies to facilitate greater interaction between St.Lucians here and those living abroad. Dr Rigobert says the contribution of the diaspora to the local economy is not to be underestimated. According to her the contribution from St.Lucians living abroad accounts for 2.3% of GDP. She says there is a heightened interest by the diaspora in St. Lucia’s economic development. Dr Roigobert added that while some st.lucians living overseas may not be considering returning to their homeland any time soon there are ways and means by which they can continue to contribute to national development and thus benefit their fellow countrymen
