Leadership Tips of the Day Instead of always trying to figure - TopicsExpress

Leadership Tips of the Day Instead of always trying to figure things out on their own, the best leaders always figure God in. That is because they know the truth of a key axiom of traveling, namely: If we want to arrive at the desired destination, we must take the right road. If we are following The Leader (Jesus), we know we are on the right path because he is always going the right way that leads to the right place. Because they genuinely care about the well-being of the people, families and organizations entrusted to their care, these extraordinary leaders are therefore ready and available to be used as instruments in God’s hands to develop and carryout a game plan that has achievement of his excellence and greater good as its main goals. They always think with him about the effect of plans and decisions on people and relationships. They ask him whether ideas or changes are the right thing for everyone concerned. And, in co-operation with him, they establish goals that are noble and as much qualitatively-oriented as quantitatively-geared. They are also God-led navigators. They not only envision the journey ahead and develop a sound action plan for getting there, in interactive partnership with him they negotiate the sea and elements to arrive safely. They are courageous and fearless, because he goes ahead and with them. Even when things do not work according to plan and they are faced with adversity, great leaders do not flinch, quail or shrink. They are calm, steady, enthusiastic and optimistic because they are co-operating with God. These superb leaders focus on success, not fear of failure. Rather than being polarized on or running from problems, they fix their thoughts on God’s promises and plans and run to him. They are supremely confident, knowing nothing is too hard or impossible when faced with God as their partner. There is no river ahead that he cannot bridge and nothing out there that he has not anticipated and planned for. That is why, instead of panicking, they inquire of him and then, make God-directed corrections. Actively listening is one of the most important elements of their planning, preparation and navigation. As William Arthur Ward wisely said, We must be silent before we can listen. We must listen before we can learn. We must learn before we can prepare. We must prepare before we can serve. We must serve before we can lead. Leaders who want to be on the leading edge and be part of achieving the greater good always listen for and to God. They are fully present in their conversations with him and followers. Respecting God and others enough to really listen has many benefits…for example, trust.
