Leadership means working to solve problems, and doing what’s right for the people of Hawaii. For years, previous governors and legislators have grappled with finding a resolution to the Turtle Bay issue. After decades of lack of progress, Governor Neil Abercrombie has taken the lead to make preservation of Kawela Bay a reality by working with the City and County of Honolulu, the Trust for Public Land, Turtle Bay Resort owners and key community leaders.
