League Men –Eagles v Uni Rebels The Eagles grabbed a cliff hanging 62-61 win against the upset minded Uni Rebels in the game of the night at the DBA Stadium at Mararra. Louis Ilton (16.4ppg) was the hero of the moment as he sank three straight free throws to get the Eagles over the line at the end of the game. The Eagles had held a one point advantage at the half time break 28-27 and luckily for them they had it at the end. The Rebels went into the last quarter with a slim 44-41 lead but the game was really up for grabs between the two sides. The Eagles lifted towards the end with Jarrod Sheppard (17ppg) hitting a three pointer and then a bucket that propelled the Birds towards the nail-biting finish as the clock wound down. Ilton finished with a game high 22 and Sheppard added 20 while the Rebel’s Matt Fagg (18.6ppg) had 14 and his team-mates Lucci Cornelius & Jermaine Lattimore (13.6ppg) hit 12 each.
