Leaked audio files from a state security meeting in Turkey that discussed possible military action in Syria has brought to surface what was not a secret to some observers. Reacting to the leaked files, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that “They have leaked something on YouTube today, he said. It was a meeting on our national security … it is a vile, cowardly, immoral act. We will go into their caves. Who are you serving by eavesdropping?” The meeting of the top government officials centers on a false flag operation to create an excuse for military intervention in Syria. “An operation against ISIS has international legitimacy. We will define it as al-Qaeda. There are no issues on the al-Qaeda framework. When it comes to the Suleyman Shah tomb, its about the protection of national soil,” a voice presented as that of foreign ministry undersecretary Feridun Sinirlioglu says. The tomb of Suleyman Shah, grandfather of the founder of the Ottoman Empire, is located in an area of northern Syria largely controlled by foreign-backed insurgents. Ankara regards the tomb as sovereign Turkish territory under a treaty signed with France in 1921, when Syria was under French rule. About two dozen Turkish special forces soldiers permanently guard the tomb. What do you think about Turkey’s false flag operation? Is the war plan developed without the knowledge of the other NATO member states including the US? Why does Turkey want to pick up a fight with Syria at this current juncture?
