Learned something more about Comcast yesterday. Business customer - TopicsExpress

Learned something more about Comcast yesterday. Business customer ordered their service moved (about 4 blocks) and specially documented that they needed their fixed IP address moved with them. (For VPNs etc.) This was promised, however it didnt happen. The technician on site explained: Nope they never will. Why? Because this way its written as a New Customer so that a commission is paid. New order, new IPs. If it was a move the sales person gets nothing. Now between us (and now you) I consider this theft. First a commission is paid when one is not earned. Second I was allotted 30 minutes for this move, you know plug in the coax and the Ethernet and Im outta here. But as you can see its 2PM and I got here at 9 and we still are waiting. Plus there are two or three others working on the problem in the order department and in technical, remapping your IPs. So I get dinged for being slow and the company needs more techs than they should. So instead of costing Comcast a few hundred bucks its gonna ring in way over a grand. Also this company is off line when you should not be. Probably costing them thousands as well I suppose. Plus they are paying you to be here and the other IT guys too plus the phone guys cant get their stuff working until Comcast gets them data service. Then he asked me how Id rate their service today. Oh and thats a rhetorical question. I like this guy.
