Learning Sanskrit is highly important for Indians. Most of the ancient knowledge is in Sanskrit. People stupidly ask What do you do after learning Sanskrit? My answer: You may then read Indias history and literature in the original and think about what is being written.... but on your own... without a Western brain interpreting the Sanskrit original and giving you a crap interpretation. You do not need to depend on Wendy Doniger to give you your own nations culture. More importantly, all your traditional learning..... mantras, ritual... Ayurveda, Arthashastra are in Sanskrit.... You know the number of Indians who contact me through various websites for help in their personal and professional lives? All these people could likely be helping others instead of needing help... if only they knew Sanskrit. Sanskrit is the link to an Indians culture.... not learning Sanskrit is a handicap for Indians. I have experienced what it means to know German and not know Sanskrit. Sanskrit will give us culture, it will refine peoples minds... I support it 100%.
