Learning Something New #94 - Cramming in some Holiday Movie viewing this Christmas Eve? Here are three facts that you may not know about the modern-holiday classic Elf: 1. Although hes starred in Anchorman 2 and is currently filming Zoolander 2, Will Ferrell refuses to even consider making an Elf 2. He turned down a reported $29 Million saying, I just think it would look slightly pathetic if I tried to squeeze back in the elf tights: Buddy the middle-aged elf. 2. Well, this just sounds fun: On the final day of Elfs New York shoot, Ferrell (in costume), Director Jon Favreau and one cameraman traveled Midtown looking for mischief with random people on the street. This included Buddys scenes of him leapfrogging across a pedestrian walk, happily accepting flyers, and getting his shoes shined. Awesome. 3. Ive seen the movie a hundred times and NEVER caught this: Peter Billingsley, AKA Ralphie from 1983s A Christmas Story ,makes an uncredited cameo early in the film as Ming The Elf!
