Learning to say No:) As a parent, i often think about what i would like to pass on to my children ..and though i know that they have their own learning and growing process to go through..regardless of what i tell them:) one very important ability is being able to say No!; That ability to draw back, to do without, something; a person, a situation that is not right for them. We live and we learn..and i have been a people-pleaser:) generally agreeable regardless of how i really felt within. As a result, I have been in unhappy and disgruntled many a time:) So while i continue to learn too, my wish for them is to be able to; Say No! to sugar:) say no! to bullying or being bullied, saying no! to being treated without respect even if its by a teacher or boss, saying No! to not being heard, saying No to unreasonable demands, No to situations that do not inspire them... And the strength to say No! comes from cultivating in them a strong sense of value and respect for their own Self!! From allowing them to express themselves and making their own choices now, from being appreciative and supportive of them now, from taking the time to listen to them now, from encouraging them to have faith now that that dreams can be realized..from valuing them and loving them for just who they are now:)))
