Leaving aside distortions and characterization issues, I have to - TopicsExpress

Leaving aside distortions and characterization issues, I have to say I really enjoyed todays episode. Todays episode touched a lot of central themes of this great epic and here Ive to give credit to the writers and dialogues. I dont claim to be an expert on this epic (its too vast and too deep for me to understand completely) but here is what I got from todays episode: 1. Revenge vs Justice: The MB war was never a war about personal revenge; it was a war for justice and the betterment of mankind as a whole. Its about compassion for fellow beings and not just me and why me. Thats what Krishna tried to explain to Draupadi- remove that personal grouse from your mind. Imagine if they did this to a queen, what they can do to a common woman? Bring justice to the common person, to the society as a whole and not lament or burn yourself in the fire of revenge. 2. Forgive your friends and enemies: Yes, as a woman I totally empathize with Draupadis plight. How dare they? I understand why she has shut the doors to her heart, why she is on fire and why she refuses to talk to anyone but as Krishna said- forgive everyone and that will give you the strength to look beyond your personal grievances. 3. Penance: We are all human and commit grave mistakes from time to time but as long as we can learn from them, repent and pay penance for our sins, we can seek forgiveness in life. Yudi burning his hands is symbolic of this penance. I agree its not written in the original, but for me its a symbolic scene as it shows how sorry Yudi is about his actions and its this repentance that will give him the strength to bring justice to the wrong doers. How I wish we all had a friend, philosopher and guide like Krishna. Krishna-Draupadi friendship and bond for me is the highlight of this great epic Goes without saying, loved Pooja and SRJ today...two of my fav in this show
