Leaving bkk for chiang Mai and the north. I am well. Was a productive weekend in Bangkok and the markets. Im headed to airport now. Short one hour flight but have to leave plenty of time to get there. So Ill be in chiang Mai in about 4 hours. There was a couple of grenades thrown into one of thee protesters crowds a couple of days ago. One killed and depending on report 39-42 injured. I stayed well away from protest areas and other than at university up north there are no protests. Ill be up there 12 nights. My longest stay there. Then back to Bangkok for three days and home on or about feb 3rd late. All is well. Wish I had more $$ to spend. But getting some great stuff. And got to see several friends while in bkk. Big thanks to Cherry Den Vongkomolshet for dinner last night - a fantastic restaurant as always. Youre always the most gracious host. You are true class and I am thankful for your friendship. Sherif Khalifa also joined us for dinner - as always the conversation was most enjoyable. Thanks again. Ill update more once Im up north. And share pics. Just didnt have time shopping.
