*********Lee Brothers Cup Final Day previews ********** Competition time: Palmerstown FC are offering a free football to anyone who correctly guesses both scores for this weekend’s Lee Brothers Cup final day (Post your guesses below). Here is a preview of both games: First up this Saturday is a massive local derby between Palmerstown FC and neighbours Glenville FC. Palmerstown FC will compete in AUL Saturday 1a this season while Glenville will feature in the Saturday Leinster Senior league 1a division. The game itself is a 3rd vs 4th place play off game at this seasons Lee Brothers Cup but there is a little bit more to the game than just simply a 3rd vs 4th playoff game with local pride at stake. Glenville have a number players familiar to Mill Lane in their ranks whilst Palmerstown themselves have no less than 5 players who featured for Glenville FC within the past 14 months. Palmerstown can count themselves unlucky not to feature in this weekend’s final having narrowly been defeated by Longford Town U19’s on penalty kicks last Saturday. For Glenville this Saturday is an opportunity to put a disappointing start to their pre season campaign behind them following a 4-0 defeat to St Pats Phoenix last week. Off the field both parties will have an opportunity to bury any past history between the sides and look ahead to building new friendships whilst on it we expect a cracking game of football and one not to be missed as these two Palmerstown clubs clash for the first ever time in their respective histories. The afternoon game see’s an inform St Pats Phoenix side take on a very talented Longford Town U19’s side newly assembled by Manger Mark Connors and his staff. This final promises to be a classic between two sides who like to play total football. In form Pats striker Glenn Bassnet will be looking to add to his 2 goal tally in this seasons competition following his sides 4-0 rout of Glenville last weekend whilst for Longford Dylan McKeever is a player more than capable of overtaking Bassnett for tournament top goalscorer with a goal to his name already in the 2-2 draw vs Palmerstown FC last week. Palmerstown vs Glenville (12pm Mill Lane) St Pats Phoenix vs Longford Town U19’s (3pm Mill Lane) BubbleFootball Ireland on site on the day from just €5 a game.
