Lee County EMS is hosting the 6th Annual Paramedic Savers Basic and Intermediate Challenge, to be held May 31, 2014. The Paramedic Savers Basic and Intermediate Challenge was designed to allow Basic emts and Intermediate emts the opportunity to compete in a challenging and realistic scenario based competition. Many competitions are designed for paramedics. This competition is strictly for Basic emts and Intermediate emts. This a great opportunity to get our emts exposed to competition, by designing a challenging scenario to test their skills and knowledge. The competition is held around EMS Week, in Bishopville, South Carolina. The 2015 event will alternate back to a North Carolina Host. This event has grown in popularity over the last few years. Both North and South Carolina services can compete in this event. This is a family event. Family and friends are encouraged to attend. There will be plenty of seating area for family and friends to watch and cheer on their teams. Breakfast will be served to teams during our team meeting. Dinner will be served to all the participants following the event and awards will be given to the top three teams, as well as door prizes to all participants. This is a unique three person team format. At least one Intermediate is preferred; however we will be accepting a three person Basic emt team. This year we are going to allow two man teams if a third person is unavailable, however a two person team MUST have at least one Intermediate preferably two Intermediates. Those who are currently participating in an Intermediate/Advanced EMT class will be allowed to function at that level if documentation of such training is provided to the event staff prior to the event. All teams are required to bring a stocked ambulance or QRV. Teams will respond and work out of their units. There is NO cost for this event. Due to the increased interest in this year’s event we are allowing multiple teams from one service. This is first come first serve for entry forms.
