Lee and Terry recently visited a group of felters through Mayan Hands that are practicing getting the faces of Mary and Joseph in better proportion. They even had tape measures out measuring the proportions of their own faces. Mary is dressed in traditional traje the clothing Mayan women wear in Guatemala as the women in the group are wearing. The photo of all of them together shows them with their new wool carders that people in the US donated in response to a Facebook request Mayan Hands posted. Their new and improved nativities will be in the store this Christmas season and we cant wait to have them there after meeting the wonderful artisans who create them.
