Longtail who had been seen suffering for weeks on the Sandy Lane apartment grounds is making progress in the indoor outdoor shelter. For the first time today, he came out of his kitty condo. He is sitting quietly with Caroline who moved in last Spring after loosing her colony caretaker in Chatham. This is a big step and we are so excited. Long Tail was discovered after the Sandy Lane community made calls to Animal Control about a sick and injured cat. He had lovely keepers, one who cooked him chicken on a regular basis. This was not enough for Long Tail, he needed help. Upon arrival to the clinic it was discovered he had only two teeth, both of which had to be pulled. His leg had been badly injured but the clinic was able to save it! We struggled with releasing Long Tail and even drove him back to area… we made a decision to hold on to him and allow him to heal. We thought he may be a candidate for a home with lots of time and space. Thank-you to Barb Potter at 4 The Luv of Luna Cat Rescue for giving him this chance. We want to note that his two previous caretakers are no longer residing in the area. We feel this was meant to be. Long Tail is up for adoption. We are keeping faith that there may be a patient and loving home that would be just right for him to live out his senior years! **************** Please consider making a donation to 4theluvofluna.weebly/donate-now.html Since Long Tail has no teeth he is on a special diet of soft food only, which is a luxury this cat rescue does not see often. Also, provisions for the winter need to be made throughout the facility, the only of its kind in the area. WE NEED TO HELP 4 the Luv of Luna Cat Rescue - even a twoonie will do!
