Left Front Candidate submits nomination for Tripura West seat Rahul Sinha Agartala, 18th March: The city of Agartala witnessed a colorful and vibrant procession of the left front workers on Tuesday as the Left Front supported CPI(M) candidate for West Tripura Loksabha seat Comrade Shankar Prasad Dutta filed his nomination papers for the election to be held on 7th April. CPI(M) candidate for the East Tripura (ST) seat Comrade Jitendra Choudhury will file his nomination papers on 21st April. The procession started from the premises of Rabindra Shatavarshiki Bhavan. CPI(M) state committee secretary Bijan Dhar, CC member and state secretariat member Rama Das accompanied the candidate. Also in the forefront were CPI(M) Sadar DC secretary Samar Adhya, PCMs Samir Chakraborty,Pranab Debbarma, Chhaya Bal, Krishna Rakshit, Matilal Sarkar, Forward Block state president Dr. Brajagopal Ray, RSP state secretariat member Gopal Das and other leaders of CPI(M) and the LF constituent parties. Thousands of people, both men and women joined the procession enthusiastically. Though it was perceived that people from within the city and Sadar DC will be taking part in it, but a good number of masses from the adjoining areas of the city, from CPI(M) Dukli DC area, Sadar East DC also joined it. The procession became colorful with red flags, banners and flexes urging the masses to make the Left Front candidate victorious. Slogans were raised for electing the CPI(M) candidate to form an alternative government centre with a set of alternative pro people policies. The roaring and marching procession with an unambiguous mood of militancy to further isolate the anti people Congress, BJP and their allies walked through the heart of the city. Hundreds of enthusiastic people watched it from the wayside. Passing through Kaman Choumohoni, Post office Choumohoni, Paradise Choumohoni and Battala it culminated in front of the DMs office. Here the LF candidate submitted his nomination papers before the DM and Returning Officer Abhishek Singh.
