Legend has it that 50 years ago today, in a tiny bedsit in Clapton, a 411 woman of enormous stature, single handedly (and entirely alone due to my feckless father going on a quest to find the midwife) gave birth to a 10lb baby boy. Well, that legend is my mum Martha OConnor. To celebrate the anniversary of this momentous occasion, Im heading west to see her. But if you are distraught because you wont be able to help me celebrate my half century, fear not. Ive got it covered. Ive deferred my 50th and got an advance on Heidis. So were planning to meet in the middle and have an massive party on December 20th to celebrate our 100th birthday. We intend to invite everybody we have ever met, and a few we havent. Weve booked a very big pub, but if needs be we can upgrade. We would love to see as many of you as humanly possible.
