Legend has it that Trinbagonians who have passed on return to their homeland as hummingbirds. After local historian Gerry Besson told me that story, I never looked at these magical creatures the same way again. It is with immense pride I share with you all, my fellow Trinbagonians, the National Costume that was inspired by this tiny but powerful bird. As seen in the sketch, this creation is the brainchild of mastermind designers Richard and Anthony Hall of Fantasy Carnival (shout out to the best carnival band and family ever, I love you all!). It will be worn on the final night on December 14th, during the Dances of the World portion of the show! Special thanks to the talented Gary Jordan for capturing a shot that REALLY allowed for the hummingbird to take flight! Please show your national pride by liking and sharing. You all have been an unbelievable source of support... I am blown away! I cannot convey enough how you have become the wind beneath my wings! Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
