Legendary Performance! This is probably my favorite recital performance to this day... Beethovens Moonlight sonata has been a very significant piece for me. Id learned the sonata in its entirety in my very early 20s after hearing the 3rd movement for the first time in my late teens. Upon hearing it I knew I had to learn this piece despite the fact that I was a beginning pianist who couldnt even test out of class piano at COD while taking music theory. It took a couple of years and was a painful process but I eventually got through it. In the spring of 2011 I wanted to do something that had never been done before at a recital. I took a few months to relearn the sonata, wrote an electric guitar accompaniment and approached Alex Flugel to play it. It was tough to have to perform it in the middle of a 3 1/2 hour recital without even warming up but we got through it. And it was legendary!
