Legendary broadcaster and WWII #USNavy veteran Bob Wolff honored at Yankee Stadium Thursday night as the Guinness Book of World Records certified his record 74 year plus career. A baseballl injury at Duke University in 1939, he joined the Navy during WWII and service in the Solomon Islands. The young Navy officer did such a remarkable job organizing supplies that he was sent back to DC to prepare training manuals. After the war, Bob continued in Washington DC broadcasting games of the Washington Senators. Bob went on to call Don Larsons 1956 perfect World Series game and the landmark 1958 Giants-Colts overtime playoff game both at Yankee Stadium. He broadcasted Knick and Ranger games for over 50 years at Madison Square Garden and continues to work and mentor young broadcasters on Long Island. Bobs wife Jane joined him for the occasion, the couple will celebrate their 69th wedding anniversary on May 5th.
