Legia Warsaw Try Taye Taiwo Former Super Eagles defender, Taye Ismaila Taiwo (The Tornado) has attracted transfer attention from Legia Warsaw of Poland and looks good to sign the dotted lines after his ongoing trials with the Polish champions. The Warsaw-based side are in the market for defensive reinforcements and have beamed their searchlight on Taiwo for a possible deal before the ongoing transfer window closes. The left-wing-back, who last played for Bursaspor of Turkey, arrived Legia’s training camp late on Sunday evening, and will be hoping to bag a contract after proving he is in good physical condition. Incidentally, the training base is at Belek in Turkey, which has made it easier for ‘TT’ to join up with the squad and hold unto a strong ray of hope that he will be able to prove his mettle both physically and technically. At the moment, Taiwo, who has also played for Olympique Marseille of France, AC Milan of Italy, Queens Park Rangers of England and Dynamo Kiev of Ukraine, is technically a free agent, after his work permit was not renewed by Turkish authorities at the start of this season. The bronze ball winner at the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship (WYC) in Holland said he is looking forward to a deal with Legia, after his trip to join their training camp went very smoothly. “The journey went without problems. Everything is OK! ” Taiwo, who could feature in test games against Karabakh Agdam and Zenit St Petersburg on Tuesday, told the official website of Legia.
