Legislators who represent Persons with Disabilities want government to build special needs schools in all districts. Uganda joins the rest of the world to mark the International Day of People with Disability, sanctioned by the United Nations with the aim to promote an understanding of people with disability and encourage support for their dignity, rights and well-being. The Northern Uganda representative in Parliament, William Nokrach says even though institutions have been put in place to cater for children with disabilities, they are not spread out to all regions. Nokrach says children should be given special priority in order to enhance their right to education.
