Leicester Community Enterprise Services CIC Ltd (LCES) which is a not for profit making company is planning a project that will save participating residents an estimated 20 per cent off the cost of gas and electricity bills. LCES is looking for at least 300 householders in your area of Leicester to register their interest in joining a bulk-buy energy scheme. “Provided we can find at least 300 households interested in joining a bulk-buy, Leicester Community Enterprise Services CIC Ltd will invite the major power and gas distributors to bid for our business. The actual savings will vary depending on patterns of use, but we have been told typical reductions in bills should be in the order of 20 per cent.” “Anybody who gets gas or electricity is invited to consider joining us. “Energy is becoming a critical cost for many families. With quarterly electricity bills running at about £300 in some cases, a rebate of £60 would be well worth having, if all it means is agreeing to put a different supplier’s name on the cheque,” he said. Similar schemes are in operation in other areas, including Kent and Somerset “With energy companies signaling further increases, householders need all the help they can get to cut costs,” Mr. Popat said.
