Leighton Meester “Heartstrings” | “Heartstrings” ow.ly/DEc9d (Video Premiere) “Heartstrings” is the debut studio album by American singer-songwriter and actress Leighton Meester, ow.ly/DEcfe best known for her role as Blair Waldorf in the CW’s teen drama series Gossip Girl (2007–2012). It was released on October 28, 2014 via Hotly Wanting. This release comes as a surprise without notice after a first attempt to start recording career in 2009 when she presented her first single “Somebody to Love” with Robin Thicke. A second single “Your Love’s a Drug” was released in 2011. Both failed to debut on Billboard. After leaving Universal Music, the singer shows a new musical side, much alternative in this first album. Alongside its pre-order on iTunes, Meester unveiled the album’s title track “Heartstrings” as first countdown and lead single on September 9th. Her new sound it’s a perfect mix between Lana Del Rey and Paolo Nutini. Magnificent. The full album was exclusively premiered on ELLE on Friday October 24th. The music video for the album’s title track and lead single “Heartstrings” was premiered on VEVO on Thrusday October 30th. It was directed by Stephen Ringer.
