Lena Update! Little Lena has the results back from the last set of tests. As the doctor thought, she needs some help with digestion, metabolism, circulatory, sympathetic nervous system function, Amino Acid deficiencies, enzyme, fatty acid deficiency and hormonal imbalance. SO, with all of that going on, is it any wonder we havent been able to get enough weight on her? To add more stress on this sweet baby, Lena is mostly blind (likely from her diabetes). Her foster sister thinks her blank stares are a challenge, so she is now always separated from the one that used to be her best friend. It is heartbreaking to watch her look so sad and unsure, but we have to keep her safe. Lena is still a sweet little cuddle bug and loves to play with toys and chase her other foster siblings chasing toys (yes, only those that play nicely with her). With the added meds, Lenas foster mom says her glucose seems to be stabilizing and her appetite is at an all time high. Lena is taking multiple medications and supplements for her deficiencies, as well as eating a specialized diet. Little Lena sure could use some help with her needed items on our Amazon wish list.
