Leprechaun is a 1993 American horror comedy film written and directed by Mark Jones and starring Warwick Davis, the hunky Ken Olandt, and Jennifer Aniston in her first role. The film is about a man who steals a leprechauns pot of gold and returns to the United States with it. The leprechaun kills his wife, but the man manages to trap the demonic creature by using a four-leaf clover. Unfortunately, the man dies of a stroke before he can burn his house down, and the leprechaun with it. A decade later, Tory (Aniston) and her dad rent the house. A local handyman, Nathan (Olandt), accidentally frees the leprechaun. When his kid brother Alex and a mentally disabled man Ozzie find the pot of gold, the leprechaun begins wreaking havoc on everyone, even killing Torys dad... The film made $8.5 million domestically on a $900,000 budget, making it one of the most profitable horror films of all time. There were five sequels: Leprechaun 2 (1994), Leprechaun 3 (1995), Leprechaun 4: In Space (1997), Leprechaun 5: In the Hood (2000), and Leprechaun 6: Back 2 Tha Hood (2003). The film series is being rebooted this year in Leprechaun: Origins. Warwick Davis has hung up his leprechaun hat, and Dylan Postl (better known as WWE wreatler Hornswoggle) is taking over the role.
