Leroy is wound up like a top. Someone tied him to a fence and left him exposed to the elements in that compromised condition. Somehow Leroy’s head sustained a small wound. Leroy is terrified at the shelter and he has every right to be. Leroy gets so scared when he’s approached that he barks and growls his head off, virtually losing his balance. It’s the doggie equivalent of when a person faints from hyperventilating. The temperament assessor decided not to mess with this distraught dog and simply recommended that he die. That is the stark truth of existence in the NYC ACC. No compassion; no rehabilitation. Leroy’s only 2-years old and how he would bond with someone who gives him a chance. The person would need to be a dog savvy handler - probably have to sign a waiver. Is there someone out there who believes that Leroy is worth a chance at love?
