Leslie and I are nearing the end of our Ecuador adventure. We are spending a couple of days just relaxing in the sleepy fishing village of Puerto Lopez. This is not the Gringo magnet that Montanita is. Fewer English speakers and more genuine Ecuadorian culture. We have met an American woman our age from Chicago. She is attempting a solo retirement/relocation here. She knows no one and does not speak the language. She found a beach front furnished two bedroom apartment with utilities included for $450 per month. We also met her son who is down here helping her move. He seemed a little concerned about the wisdom of his Moms decision. Funny how roles reverse between parents and kids as we age....
