Lesson 10 my beauties!! We continue with their second album Im nothing without you. The song was featured on the Cruel Intentions soundtrack. There are two versions of the video, both filmed live at Londons Brixton Academy; one includes clips from the movie Cruel Intentions. When asked who it was about, Molko replied with Whos it about? Im not really too sure just yet. I think its about a lot of people. Probably anybody... everybody whos had the displeasure of sleeping with me. (damn Molko.. unfffff….) About his choice to include it in the Cruel Intentions soundtrack, Molko said that he studied drama, I know the original (Dangerous Liaisons) and we watched it on the tour bus when they wanted to use our song. I said: If he doesnt die in the end, if its a happy ending, we dont do it. Its quite perverted and manipulative, so the theme of the song fits in quite well. About the dress he wears in the show “Even though I’m wearing a rather fetching John Richmond dress, which cost a lot of money, I still look silly. It’s one of my many fashion crimes I was guilty of early in our career.” “Bad dress. No, good dress. I just shouldn’t have worn that dress. It’s quite representative of what a Placebo live show is like. It also gives you an idea of what our fans look like. One too many tiaras in the audience for my liking. I was quite shocked when I saw this. I didn’t realise we were so static on stage. And I think that pushed us to move around a lot more and be more energetic. We were just getting our confidence, then with the live medium. Also it’s not very easy to move around in a dress like that”. Actually, this video was not his first choice.
