Ezekiel 33:11 Lesson Text Ezekiel 33:7-11 Introduction - Soul winning is an act of bringing man back to his maker - 2 Cor. 5:18. It entails more than evangelism. It is about producing heaven-bound candidates. being a spiritual matter, it requires Divine intervention - Jn. 6:44. Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price for the redemption of every soul through the shed blood - Heb. 9:22. The salvation of a single soul stirs up celebration even in Heaven. It is our prayer that your hearts will be enlightened as we study this crucial act in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. The Heartbeat of God Obviously God wants every soul to be saved - 2 Pet. 3:9. Right after the fall of the first Adam, God initiated means of reconciling man to Himself - Ezek. 45:15, Heb. 2:17. He takes no pleasure in a sinners death - Ezek. 33:1. In His mercy, He patiently waits for every man to repent and turn to Him - Is. 30:18. God has more than enough room to accommodate all souls - Jer. 32:27, provided they turn to Him - Ezek. 18:4. In fact, God came in the flesh primarily to win the souls of the lost - Matt. 18:11. He did not just save us but has given to us one common ministry, which is the ministry of reconciliation - 2 Cor. 5:18. The blood of the wicked shall be required of you if you fail to win souls - Ezek. 33:7-8. This heartbeat of God must be followed completely - Jer. 26:23 Tools for Soul Winning When God commissions a man, He equips and empowers him - Matt. 28:19, Matt. 10:1. The primary requirement for soul winning is to be born again - Mk. 3:13-14. The blind cannot lead the blind. Here are the tools required by the soul winner. a) To be filled with the Holy Spirit, coupled with a good knowledge of the scriptures Acts 1:8, 1 Tim. 3:16 b) Compassion and genuine concern for the salvation of souls - Matt 9:36, Lk. 10:33 c) Faith that God can save any and all souls - Jer. 32:27 d) Zeal to go all out for souls - 1 Cor. 9:22 e) Prayers to break limited barriers and obstacles - Rom. 10:1 f) Wisdom to respond to issues raised - Dan. 12:3, Jn. 4:7-30 g Sacrifice of personal rights and privileges - 1 Cor. 9:19-20 h) Patience to get souls yield to the truth. Do not give up. i) Holy living to show the way by what you do and not just what you say. Conclusion It is the responsibility of a believer to win souls and not a choice. It is a wise thing to do, Prov. 11:30. God will reward soul winners with crowns - 1 Thess. 2:19. The complacent Christian will be punished for negligence of duty - Lk. 12:47.
