Lesson: Just because you can doesnt mean you have to. Im very excited to say that starting May 1st I will no longer be a regular contributor to Forbes. Ive really enjoyed the opportunity to learn about so many interesting people and startups, and have considered it an honor to tell their stories - receiving emails saying my articles have helped them in some way has been the best part. Ive also really appreciated the process of developing my own writing style, and getting comfortable being me regardless of who is paying attention. Quite simply, its taking up way too much of my time for how little it pays, and I want to make space for a full-time job, turning Amp and my creative pursuits into side gigs. A BIG thanks to all of you that have taken time to read my words, and shared my stories. I have two more to post this month that Im really excited about: The Urgency Network and then Impossible Light: The Story Behind An Iconic Light Sculpture. And, gratefully, my editor said I can write as a guest contributor in the future, should inspiration strike. As for that full-time job, Im looking for something that touches social impact measurement, consumer insights and/or biz strategy …so if you hear of anything like that, please keep me in mind! Im not interested in leaving LA, but would be down for regular travel to the Bay Area. Dont all jump at once, I know …but cant hurt to put it out there:) xo
