Lesson from Football Im not a football fan so when I watch, - TopicsExpress

Lesson from Football Im not a football fan so when I watch, I try to take in some lessons. Barcelona is a team that plays wonderfully well BUT this same team is only really scared of one team; that is Arsenal. No matter how she continues to hammer Arsenal, the nightmare over meeting Arsenal remains. Why? Arsenal plays the pattern of Barcelona with her own unique style and finesse. If Barcelona is to choose another, it will be Chelsea. Why again? Chelsea plays the exact opposite of Barcelona whenever they encounter each other. Chelsea wears down Barcelona. Chelsea destroys the beauty in Barcelonas pattern. This lesson is applicable for Africa in its generic sense in relation with foreign lands but todays lesson is for Nigeria although smart ones can fix the odds and place Africa in. Nigerian leaders represent team Barcelona. They have destructively smart patterns of play. They possess enthralling ways of passing the ball around to one another. The only way to defeat them is not to keep complaining like my icon; Jose Mourinho BUT to develop a pattern like Arsenal as youths or that of Chelsea. The headache and tears here is that unlike Arsenal and Chelsea, Nigerian youths have no team spirit. Nigeria youths cannot and will not pass the ball around to ensure the leaders dont get them. They are easily bribed and subdued. Nigerian youths cannot devise a defensive mechanism like Chelsea where the principle of one for all, all for one operates. They dont trust one another. Nigerian youths come to cyberspace daily to lament and complain but will never try to exchange phone numbers, call one another, talk privately, meet to hatch good plans on how best to salvage their country. Social media unites people across board with dedicated course of action. Nigerian youths also want to be rich, live good, build castles and go to bed. On social media, most northerners cant comment objectively on southerners post. Southerners dont even try to understand some dynamics too so they cant comment freely on northerners post. We keep living in denial. We are not ready to grow. When the players of Chelsea fought over a leader (Mourinho) because he was out like Nigerian youths do over Buhari, Jonathan, Tinubu among others, they were worst of that year. They got close to the Champions league but the most crucial man John Terry lost the golden penalty. Manchester United won. Just because a man did well the first time does not mean he will always be a messiah. Jose Mourinho with his previous Chelsea would never have lost to Athletico Madrid in such a manner but he did with his new Chelsea. So saying one man fought corruption in 1983 and he alone can still do it is so extremely fallacious. What happened to you and me? Are we so daft to lead? Cant we sit together; leave religion, keep tribe aside and fathom better strategies? Since we cant do this; no more lamentation. Why cant our educated northerners castigating and lamenting on social media daily form an advocacy group that promotes learning to free the millions in the shackles of ignorance imposed by these same leaders they fight for? Why do those in the south keep shouting when of course our president is clueless and the alternatives are so greedy? The politicians are not ready to field better candidates and we are also not ready to come together and counter them. Fashola is a mistake to Tinubu; he never expects what Fashola is doing. We cant be the Arsenal or Chelsea to scare the hell out of their Barcelona because we are also all clueless as bigots. We need a strong group or forum that trust, unity of purpose and patriotism will be the basic pillars. We need to educate young ones, market women, artisans among others. Ive been involved in argument with different people from different social strata and I realise we have not started. We are joking.
