Lessons From My Cat: My little feral cat is now really tame but there are two things he just won’t do - He won’t allow me to pick him up for a cuddle, and he won’t come inside the house without panicking when the door shuts. Both of these things are important for him to learn and accept if he’s to stand a chance of getting a loving home. Too bad he doesn’t realize how much his future happiness depends on trusting me to teach him these things. Oh, he’ll survive if he doesn’t learn them because I’ll look after him - but he’ll live in a box outdoors. I’ll worry about him and he’ll be cold and frightened all the time instead of snuggling up in the warmth. Kinda like us really. God - the Universe, presents us with challenges and lessons which may seem impossible or at least uncomfortable. We have to accept that a higher power has our future well-being at heart, and learn our lessons trusting that they’re a necessary part of the bigger picture. Like Kitty, we can choose not to, and we’ll never know how much better our lives would have been if we’d only done what was asked. Lessons are gifts which will lead to our greater good.
