Lessons from Today’s Scripture Reading: After sharing the gospel in Samaria, the Apostles return to Jerusalem. The Lord instructs Phillip to head south toward Gaza. The Lord did not tell Phillip to wait for the right situation. He told Phillip to go and he went. In today’s world, many are not following the biblical command to go and share the gospel. Many sit around and invite people to church. That is not what the Lord Jesus Christ instructed us to do. He said go and tell. As he traveled south toward Gaza, Phillip meet a eunuch from Ethiopia. The man was searching for answers from Isaiah the prophet. He even admits to Phillip that he did not understand what he was reading. Imagine for a moment, what could have happened if Phillip had not followed the Lord’s instructions to head south to Gaza. The biblical command to go and tell is still in operation today. Just imagine for a moment what could happen if those who claim Jesus as their Lord and Savior actually went and told someone about his transforming power. I am not against inviting people to worship with us, but that is not what the Lord instructed. He said go and tell. The message for each of us is to stop waiting for someone to come to us. Let us get up and go. Trust in the Lord and he will led us to people who need to hear the gospel. I pray that we are living in the light today by abiding in Christ and living in the fullness of the Holy Spirit of God. May God the Father bless us today through the reading of His word. Selah Yours in Christ Jesus, Keith Acts 8:26-33 26 Now an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, "Arise and go toward the south along the road which goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza." This is desert. 27 So he arose and went. And behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasury, and had come to Jerusalem to worship, 28 was returning. And sitting in his chariot, he was reading Isaiah the prophet. 29 Then the Spirit said to Philip, "Go near and overtake this chariot." 30 So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, "Do you understand what you are reading?" 31 And he said, "How can I, unless someone guides me?" And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him. 32 The place in the Scripture which he read was this: "He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; And as a lamb before its shearer is silent, So He opened not His mouth 33 In His humiliation His justice was taken away, And who will declare His generation? For His life is taken from the earth."
