Let Her Dance // Another Sad and Lonely Night -- by The Bobby Fuller Four --This Wednesday October 22 commemorates what would be the 72 Birthday of Bobby Fuller. Seen left to right in this 1965 live performance on Shivaree --- hosted by the late great LA DJ Gene Weed --are Guitarist Jim Reese; drummer Robert Quirico; Bobby Fuller, and his brother bass player and co songwriter Randy Fuller. The Bobby Fuller Four took the Texas Rock and Roll Torch handed down from Buddy Holly, and carried it straight into the belly of the English Invasion of the mid 1960s. This set is one of my favorites, and you can see La La Brooks of the Crystals, along with Bobby Rydell, behind the BF4 near the close of the video. As John Mellencamp said -- The Bobby Fuller Four were the best American band of that era. Nobody looked like them -- nobody sounded like them. unquote. Bobby Fuller born Robert Gaston Fuller October 22, 1942 near Baytown, Texas -- growing up in El Paso, Texas. May God Bless the Fuller Family at this time. cmc
