Let me be very clear to anyone who reads this. DO NOT trust your children around ANY dog unsupervised. Sweet dogs come under pressure at times for things most humans dont understand or see. The issue with euthanizing the animal now falls primarily on how much the dog just trained itself on a reactive behavior. If the dog came under pressure from the child and it bit the child, it the childs natural instinct to pull away as much as its the dogs instinct to bite harder in opposition reflex. Dont make the mistake that the breed led to the attack. If you show me a bite, I will show you a number of flags the dog will show before he makes that decision. The last thing I will leave you with is that dog bites are way more severe than you can possibly imagine. The teeth are only part of the problem. The pressure is so much more intense than you can imagine. Never trust any child alone for even a moment with ANY dog. Thats the rule of thumb for safety. If you think you know your dog and that a gamble you are willing to take, you can take it all alone.
