Let me begin by saying my heart is very heavy and I apologize if this tribute to a celebrity offends anyone, but this is MY WALL and I would appreciate the respect of being able to share MY feelings, MY emotions and MY heartfelt thoughts one last time publicly. Please ignore this message and do not post negative comments. I will delete them! I am taking a few moments to honor a man that touched MY Life in a special way. Please respect my request even if you disagree with it! Any loss of Life is tragic, be it through natural causes, injury or illness, but when we lose such a talent to suicide, depression or addiction-related, it is something that needs to be addressed... Robin Williams was loved by many, far beyond his celebrity. My purpose here is to pay tribute to the man who brought such joy and laughter to so many, yet apparently could not find his own peace. I was impressed with his ability to go in and out of character with his myriad of impersonations. I laughed at his humor and loved the way interview after interview, the reviews were similar, He made the room brighter, He made us feel welcome, He could make you forget your problems, He was one of a kind. I am not much of a tv watcher, but I love movies, going to the theater, eating popcorn, and the family and friendship element of sharing a movie together. We enjoyed MANY a movie by this amazing talent. From his hilarious Mrs. Doubtfire to his serious roles, in Good Will Hunting, Dead Poets Society and many more, the scope of his work was vast indeed! Personally, his portrayal of Patch Adams makes me think of him best. A man that just wanted to make people smile. As I said, his Celebrity means nothing to me, but his sharing his talents and the wonderful humanitarian efforts he shared with the USO Tours, St. Judes, his lifelong friendship with Christopher Reeves and how he was there for him, shows what a genuine heart he possessed. I cannot imagine what Mr. Williams last months were like. I shudder to think what his final moments were like. All in all, please let us reach out to all within our circle of family, friends and influence to better SEE signs in those near us so we can help prevent a tragedy like this. For those suffering from depression or addiction, seek help, know you are invaluable, and taking your Life is NOT the answer. Suicide affects so many more than the person committing this act. There are far better options for you. You are not alone. It is my fervent prayer that Robin Williams death will draw attention to A REAL affliction. If someone you know even tosses the idea by you, take it seriously and get them help or BE THE ONE TO HELP THEM. My prayers go out to the Williams family, his Wife, his Kids and those that knew him best. I am taken back to the days Lucille Ball and Johnny Carson died. Very few actors, comics, or entertainers move me to tears. They both did. And now, Robin Williams, instead of making me laugh, tears flow in grief. No, I did not know him. But his acting and comedy made me feel like I did. For me, he joins Ms. Ball and Mr. Carson for celebrities I mourn. To now know the details of how he took his Life makes me cringe. What was he thinking? Did he see his wife and kids faces as he took his Life? Did he know how much he was admired, respected and loved? So many whys perhaps never to be fully understood by any of us, least of all, his family. Robin Williams, I am greatly saddened by your death. You brought me joy that I cannot begin to describe and sadly none of us could return to you. Your talents will be shared for years to come and I choose to remember the great man you were fondly for always. R.I.P. Mr. Williams. I end this Personal Tribute with a quote from a costar Cheryl Hines, I do not know her, but her remembrance speaks volumes to the man, I hereby choose to pay tribute to: Every time he saw her, hed get up and hug her and make her feel special. That was a quality that a lot of people in general dont have.
