Let me briefly take you to my childhood time with Stipin (Stephen - TopicsExpress

Let me briefly take you to my childhood time with Stipin (Stephen Tarus) One day Jonah (elder brother) disappears from home, and only comes at night to sleep in the jikoni with us (Stipin and I), and he instructs us not to tell anyone, not even Mzee (our father), if he dared to inquire from us. He instructs us not to let anyone know that he is around. For his order to be upheld, he had to bribe us with two whole fully ripe pineapples which he had stolen from the garden of RSM our most dreaded neighbour (millitary man). Before he shared the fruits, he made us to swear by the name of river Ainop Setan, that we would never betray him, and we gladly did. The offer was irresistible, seeing how ripe the two fruits were, and that it was just for the two of us. He even went ahead to promise each of us seven sticks of red and yellow sugarcane from Arap Mweis and Kobot Kiprops gardens if we kept our lips completely zipped up. The following day, Mzee calls me and asks me if Jonah slept at home the previous night, of cause you must have already guessed my answer to that question. I said no I have never seen Jonah since he left home the other day. Mzee asked me for the second time if I am sure of what I am saying, and my answer was the same. Having finished my portion of the pineapple, My motivation was the yellow and red cane later that day, and so I could not screw that by stupidly admitting Jonahs presence at Jikoni the previous night. My father asked me for the umpteenth time, and I categorically denied seeing Jonah in our bed room (jikoni), and this was the beginning of the drama! I did not mention to you earlier that I was loosely Mzees favourite boy, and so he trusted me in most cases. So, he came to me after dealing with Stipin, and he knew that I would tell him the truth. I had never known that I was my fathers favourite until that day, when the favour ended. Stipin had betrayed our agreement, he had told Mzee the whole truth about Jonahs whereabouts, and Mzee was only coming to me for confirmation. I was disappointed, I felt let down, not only because Stipin told the truth but because Jonah himself had confessed. So the whole drama became only mine, I was the only criminal in the whole mix. And my father was a very disappointed man, he always believed that all could lie except me! He had proved himself wrong this day. Till now, I dont want to remember that incident. I received the beating of my life. My buttocks were swollen for nearly one month, and was excommunicated from reading the bible for nearly two months! Damn Jonah! Damn Stipin! I will revenge on them when I grow up! Hahahahhaha!
