Let me get this straight… A cop shooting an unarmed person - TopicsExpress

Let me get this straight… A cop shooting an unarmed person deserves to keep his or her job but a domestic violence case away from a place of employment causes a person to lose his or her job. I think we’ve become a society that doesn’t understand its own moral compass or which acts of man should deserve a second chance at rebuilding a trusting relationship with all effected parties. Is it only right for a racist to be fired or give up ownership of a company if an email or audio recording surfaces? Or should there be a litmus test to determine if that person will be professional in every facet of their being and have no right to privacy because the position they hold? Why does Riley Cooper get to continue to catch footballs in the NFL for being video recorded shouting the word nigger in an extended tirade and Michael Vick had to endure a prison sentence for not dog fighting, but facilitating an illegal gambling activity? If you were raised with a religious and or moral compass of compassion and understanding that we all make mistakes and deserve to atone for those mistakes but feel that a person should lose the entirety of their livelihoods for a bad decision. I’m not trying to justify the negative actions of Ray Rice or anyone else as I am asserting that the demagoguery and double standards makes the accuser just as guilty as the people that are trying to atone for their misgivings?
